About Lionville School of Dance
A highly respected, award-wining dance studio in Chester County, Pa
Dance ...because it’s your passion,
because you need to, because you want to, for fun, for fitness, with friends.
Dance with us at Lionville School of Dance!
Dance is for everyone! At Lionville School of Dance, we offer a positive and supportive environment for all our students to learn and develop to the best of their abilities.
Our annual production of The Nutcracker, started by Miss Jeanene and Mr. Sean after they joined LSOD full time in 2003, is open to all LSOD dancers (ages 5+). We perform excerpts from The Nutcracker at local schools and senior residences in addition to our full performances at Downingtown West High School.
LSOD dancers have performed for fundraisers, including raising over $50,000 for Muscular Dystrophy, and have held special sensory friendly performances for families with autism or other disabilities.
Our award winning dance team competes at regional and national competitions each year. Some advanced ballet students compete at the Youth America Grand Prix, which is a rigorous international ballet competition. LSOD dancers have continued their dance education at college and at pre-professional programs, with some LSOD alumni eventually joining ballet companies or becoming professional dancers. These professional dancers have gone on to perform on major cruise lines, at Disney, for the New York Knicks and various dance companies.
LSOD is clearly the best dance program for young people in Chester County. We moved our dancer to LSOD in the summer of 2020, when her previous studio remained virtual but LSOD opened up (with masks and precautions).
We were so impressed with everything:
● The excellent caliber of the dance instruction
● The size, lighting and cleanliness of the studio
● The camaraderie of the dancers
● The professional approach from all the teachers
● The kindness and enthusiasm of the parents in the Parent Organizations
● The common sense, beauty, appropriateness and “good value” of the costumes
Our dancer has progressed tremendously in terms of technique, performance quality, and character. We are so proud of how mature, poised, courageous and passionate she has become as a dancer and as a young woman. LSOD has been a huge part of her journey, which she will continue as a dance major in college. Previous to LSOD, she had danced regularly at 2 other studios since age 4. Additionally, she has taken “drop in classes” at several other studios, and while all of those studios were nice, none can compare to LSOD.
